HOLLAND, MICHIGAN TULIP FESTIVAL

DAY 1 - NASHVILLE, TN - We board our motorcoach in Jackson to begin our beautiful Tulip Festival Tour. We swing northward from Jackson with pick-ups along 1-55 and we arrive in Memphis for a luncheon stop at Piccadilly Cafeteria. After lunch, we continue northeast to Nashville, TN, where we have reservations for the night. Tonight a gala Get-Acquainted Dinner. 


DAY 2 - CINCINNATI, OH - An early departure from Nashville and we head north into the rolling Kentucky Blue Grass region and Lexington - the center of Blue Grass Country. Lunch in Lexington. After lunch, we meet our step-on guide for a tour of the Lexington area. We will see many of the famous racehorse farms - both thoroughbred and standardbred farms, Kentucky Horse Park, where Man-of-War is buried under a life-size statue, famous Keeneland Race Track, stately Old Kentucky Homes, tobacco barns, and many other features of this fascinating countryside. In the late afternoon, we depart Lexington and soon arrive in Cincinnati, Ohio where we have reservations for the night.

DAY 3 - DEARBORN, MI - A leisurely breakfast this morning and then our motorcoach continues north through Dayton, Lima, Toledo and into Dearborn, Michigan with a mid-afternoon arrival. Time to relax with the balance of the evening at leisure.

DAY 4 - GREENFIELD VILLAGE and HENRY FORD MUSEUM - KALAMAZOO - An interesting day is before us. We check out, depart our hotel, and arrive at Greenfield Village for the opening. Greenfield Village is devoted to yesteryear, with replicas and buildings moved here from all parts of the United States. The Henry Ford Museum offers visitors a look at all Fords and other machinery of yesteryear. Then we depart Greenfield Village and Dearborn for the drive west to Kalamazoo, Michigan. We claim our reservations for the next two nights in Kalamazoo. We rest up tonight for our big day tomorrow at the Tulip Time Festival in Holland.

DAY 5 - HOLLAND, MI - A leisurely breakfast this morning before our departure for the enjoyable short drive down to Holland, Michigan. In Holland, we pick up our step-on guide and begin our tour of Holland.We will visit the Holland Original Wooden Shoe Factory, Windmill Island, and the 8-Mile  Tulip Lane Tour through the residential area. Also during the day, we will see parades, Klompen Dancers and other festivities. We return to Kalamazoo for our second night.

DAY 6 - SPRINGFIELD, IL - Our motor coach heads south as we depart Kalamazoo this morning. We arrive in Chicago just shortly before noon for our luncheon stop. After lunch, we make a short sightseeing tour of Chicago - the Loop Area, Michigan Ave., Sears Tower, Lake Shore, Marshall Fields, and other interesting sights as time permits. We depart Chicago and continue our journey south through Joliet and Bloomington, and arrive in Springfield, IL. We have reservations for the night in Springfield.

DAY 7 - ST. LOUIS, MO - We meet our step-on guide for a tour of Lincoln Country. Our tour will include the Lincoln Home, Old State House, the Lincoln Tomb in Oaklawn Cemetery, and then to the beautiful Governor's Mansion -gift shops along the way. We bid farewell to our guide and after lunch on our own depart Springfield. We arrive at St. Louis in the early afternoon and proceed to Grant's Farm for an interesting visit. Grant's Farm contains a cabin built by U.S. Grant on land he once farmed. The acreage is now owned by Anheuser-Busch Co. and features their Clydesdale horse stable, trophy room, carriage collection and team tours. Most enjoyable! We depart Grant's Farm and proceed directly to our hotel where we have reservations for the night. Tonight, our Farewell Dinner.

DAY 8 - HOMEWARD - We continue our journey south as we depart St. Louis this morning. We arrive in Memphis where we have lunch (included) at Piccadilly Cafeteria.
After lunch, we continue our homeward journey down familiar 1-55 through Grenada, Winona and Canton, arriving in Jackson in the late afternoon to conclude our wonderful tour to the Holland Tulip Time Festival
